Florence Hartmann

novinarka, žvižgačica in pisateljica / Journalist, whistleblower, author

She is a French journalist, author and human rights activist. She has worked as a correspondent from former Yugoslavia for the French newspaper Le Monde. In October 2000 she became an official spokesperson for Carla Del Ponte, former Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). In 2007 she published the book Peace and Punishment, in which she displays the evidence of the improper flirtation between ICTY and Slobodan Milošević and Serbian Government, which tried to conceal its involvement in the Srebrenica massacre.

Hartmann had to spend almost a week in solitary cell in Scheveningen prison because of unpaid fines and alleged failure to comply with the Hague Tribunal. In March the UN guards arrested her while she was waiting for the announcement of the judgement for Radovan Karadzic.
